Open Mic Night - Arran Folk Festival 2015

Douglas Hotel, Brodick. Sunday 7th June. 8pm.

The final event at this year's Festival will be an Open Mic session in The Douglas Hotel.

The Open Mic concept has been in existence for years at music festivals, but of late has become more widely known through the very successful Open Mic sessions started by Danny Kyle at Glasgow's Celtic Connections Festival. The Open Mic gives the chance to musicians, who aren't performing at the evening concerts, to get involved in the weekend's music.

The time for each performance will be limited to 10 minutes (2 songs max) per artist or group. Due to the large number of musicians keen to perform, we are encouraging everyone interested to send us an email to register your interest and book a place. Please send an email to with a little info about yourself (whether a group or solo act, what instrument you play (if any), and which two songs you'd like to perform. This should give us all the info we need so we can put together an entertaining evening of music. If each solo artist or group could also send full name (or names of band & members), instrument/s, contact telephone & email address that would be great.
